Eartha Kitt (1927-2008) was a prolific actress and singer, known for her many chart-topping hits, as well as for her role as Catwoman in the Batman TV series.
She was nominated for a Tony Award several times, and won Daytime Emmy Awards. She was a member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and an anti-war activist, as well as a strong supporter of LGBT rights.
